Jan-Peter Voß is visiting professor at the Chair of Society and Technology, temporarily taking on Prof. Dr. Stefan Böschen’s teaching commitments. His research focuses on relations of politics/governance with science/technology, lately also with art/design. Until 2022 he was heading the Chair of Sociology of Politics and Governance at Berlin University of Technology (TU Berlin), first as junior professor, then as visiting professor, initially as leader of a research group on “innovation in governance”. Before that, he was engaged with transdisciplinary research on socio-technical transformations for sustainable development (mainly in the field of energy and climate) at the Öko-Institut e.V., a major German environmental policy think tank. He did his doctorate in Science and Technology Studies (STS) at University of Twente’s Dept. of Science, Technology and Policy Studies (STePS), in 2007, and graduated in Political Science at Free University of Berlin (FU Berlin) and London School of Economics and Political Science (LSE) in 1999. He is member of the steering group of the Political Sociology Section of the German Sociological Association (DGS).
