What is ENHANCE?
Together with six other leading technical universities, RWTH Aachen University has founded the European alliance ENHANCE – European Universities of Technology Alliance. The initiative is part of the European Commission’s Erasmus+ programme and is supported by the DAAD. Together, the seven partner universities pursue the vision of a European university that transcends national borders and enables unrestricted mobility.
In addition to RWTH, the participating universities include:

What are the European Education Pathways?
The European Education Pathways (EEP) give you access to a new and innovative range of courses offered by the ENHANCE Alliance. This consists of courses from all partner universities that are pre-approved and recognised for RWTH Aachen University. As a student of the participating pilot programmes, this programme offers you the opportunity to individually select courses – whether online or face-to-face – from a constantly growing catalogue and to integrate them into your study plan. Thanks to the pre-check of the courses, a smooth recognition can be guaranteed.
Procedure
First, you decide at which of the ENHANCE partner universities you would like to study. It is also possible to study one or two consecutive semesters at two different universities. In addition to the extensive ENHANCE module catalogue with a constantly growing number of pre-approved and recognised courses, you can also take a look at the other modules offered by your chosen partner university. You are therefore as flexible as possible when it comes to putting together your study plan.
Advantages of the EEP programme:
- Simplified recognition of credits earned abroad
- Extensive course catalogue – findable in the ENHANCE Education Dashboard.
- Additional Erasmus+ places, exclusive to the EEP programme and the respective pilot study programme.
- Financial support usually available through the Erasmus+ programme
- Support in preparing for mobility through:
- Pre-Departure Seminar for outgoing students (info to follow).
- ENHANCE Tandem Programme
- Workshops on Diversity and Gender Equality
